This issue describes the BeyondScale seminar, hosted and organised by Munster Technological University. The topic of the event was “Promoting Entrepreneurship and Innovation: the Regionally Engaged University”.  The seminar had two keynote speakers: Professor Irene Sheridan from MTU Extended Campus, and Zsuzsa Zavorka from Technopolis Group.

BeyondScale newsletter - 8/2021

The outbound activity workshop of Dublin City University (DCU) focused on the HEInnovate dimension of “Knowledge Exchange and Collaboration”. Purpose of the event with participants from social enterprises, NGOs and charities as well as DCU staff was to identify main challenges in the sector and how DCU could help to overcome these.

Many commonalities were identified by participants in terms of end goals and needs and the action plan is aligned on how to collaborate and develop projects for DCU students in order to raise awareness about social innovation and entrepreneurship.

Issue 7 of the BeyondScale newsletter series describes the inbound and outbound workshops conducted by NHL Stenden University of Applied Sciences. For these Value Proposition workshops, two HEInnovate dimensions have been used - Entrepreneurial Teaching & learning, and Preparing & Supporting Entrepreneurs. "Digital competences in transition" was the title of the Value Proposition Workshop of FH Campus Wien in March 2021. 

The purpose of the workshop was to make a blueprint of activities and measures for the strategic field "Digital Transformation and Social Change" at university level and to foster the transformation of curricula and teaching and learning regarding digitalisation at program level.

The inbound activity initiated by our project partner NOVA University, Information Management School (IMS) focuses on "Digital technologies to support teaching and learning". 

The purpose of the workshop was to evaluate the state of the art of the digital context, to define a plan for the digital strategy to be used on the learning process and to consider possibilities of adding new learning outcomes.

BeyondScale Mid-term Conference Proceedings now available

The BeyondScale Mid-term Conference - "The Power of Peer-learning and Change Management during a Pandemic" - was hosted virtually by the University of Ruse "Angel Kanchev" and up to 60 interested participants joined the event.

The aim of the Conference was to create space for various higher education stakeholders to engage in fruitful discussions as Covid-19 has been posing several challenges for universities and intensified the pace of the institutional transformation. The intention was to share experiences about the role of change management in higher education from our partners and invited speakers, to facilitate peer learning and collect relevant practices. Besides, the audience had a chance to learn more about the future outlook of the BeyondScale project and the HE Innovate tool.

The conference proceedings include a summary of the presentations and the main takeaways from the discussions. The document is intended for all interested parties, especially for those who could not participate in the conference.

Within the BeyondScale project, the Mid-term Conference had twofold objectives, first to focus on the current challenges faced by the higher education institutions in the wake of Covid-19 and to share the relevant experience. For this purpose, we chose following themes: the role of peer-learning and change management.
The second objective was to invite our partners and update the audience regarding the working packages. Thus, we aimed to create a common space for various higher education stakeholders to engage in fruitful discussions.
